The leaves are falling, the nights are drawing in and there’s a chill in the air… which must mean that Halloween is coming!
If you or your little ones are looking for some creeptastic Halloween events in Hertfordshire this year, we’ve got you covered.
From pumpkin picking to spooky Halloween trails, there should be something for everyone this year.
And since Halloween is not just about the kids (despite mine thinking it is ALL about trick or treating), we’ve included a few things to do at Halloween in Hertfordshire for adults and older kids at the end.

Our kids love Halloween and I’m always researching things to do at Halloween near me which is why I came up with this huge guide on Halloween events for kids.

Hatfield House
Half Term Halloween Family Fun
Witches and Wizards week will take place at Hatfield House this October half term.
The Park and Woodland will be open over October half term for you to explore and there may be a few surprises along the way.

Hertfordshire Zoo (formerly Paradise Wildlife Park)

Willows Farm
Pick a pumpkin at Willows Pumpkin Patch, take part in a pumpkin hunt and other activities, all included in the price of your entrance ticket.

Aldenham Country Park
Spookfest – Halloween trail, pumpkin picking and carving and all sorts of Halloween themed activities.

Hertford Castle
Scarecrow Trail – not so scary free trail to do at Hertford Castle.

Knebworth House
Knebworth Gardens Halloween adventure
Follow a Halloween trail around the gardens and solve riddles to win a prize at the end. Halloween activities and crafts available. Fancy dress encouraged.

Dates: End of October.

Ashridge Estate
Address: Ashridge Estate, Moneybury Hill, Ringshall, Hertfordshire, HP4 1LT.

How exciting to wander around the woods of Ashridge Estate in the dark! Not entirely Halloween related but I’m sure it can be with some accompanying spooky stories.
It’s one of our favourite places to go for a family walk in Hertfordshire with some of the best bluebell woods in the UK (in case you can visit in the Spring).
Halloween events in Hertfordshire for adults
This post is more geared towards Halloween events for kids in Hertfordshire but we’re pretty sure that there are some grown up kids who love a bit of spooky Halloween fun.
Haunted Hertford Walk
