Whilst some of these London pumpkin patches are all about the pumpkin picking experience, others have gone all out with playgrounds, bale mazes or maize mazes and scarecrow hunts so that you can have a fun family day out.

Tips for pumpkin picking near London…
- Don’t forget to take your wellies. These pumpkins fields will be muddy!
- Bring a large, heavy duty bag with you to carry your pumpkins back to the car.
- Make sure your phone is fully charged and take advantage of the photo opportunities.
- Look for firm pumpkins. You want them to last until Halloween.
- In almost all cases, tickets MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE.

Pumpkin picking in Hertfordshire
The Pop Farm
Pumpkins are grown in a large field at the Pop Up Farm (also the site of the sunflower pop up farm in the summer).
Grab a wheelbarrow and head into the field to choose from a variety of pumpkins and squashes. There’s a helpful picture guide at the start explaining which pumpkins are good for carving and which ones are good for eating.
There’s a bale maze for the kids to play on before or after choosing their pumpkins and a snack van selling hot drinks and snacks.

Pumpkin picking at the Pop Up Farm
Willows Activity Farm
Willows Farm is putting on lots of pumpkin themed activities in addition to the usual farmyard fun. Visit Gourds Grotto for the ultimate pumpkin Instagram shot and every child gets a free pumpkin to take home and carve.

Pumpkin picking in Sussex
Tulleys Pumpkins
With 20 acres of pumpkin fields to explore with a variety of different pumpkins and squashes, you’re bound to find the perfect one.
There are wheelbarrows for your pumpkins (or your little ones), plenty of Instagram photo ops and hot food and drinks.
They are also runnin pumpkin nights.

Poynings Pumpkin Patch
Poynings Pumpkin Patch have some enormous pumpkins available this year. If you’re feeling peckish, there’s a snack van selling locally produced lamb and beef burgers as well as pumpkin treats.
Where: Poynings Road, Poynings, Brighton, BN45 7AP.
When: Every weekend in October then every day during October half term.
Tickets: No booking required.
Pumpkin picking in Kent
Four Winds Farm
The pumpkin patch is located on a working farm. Grab a wheelbarrow and go and choose your pumpkin. Pumpkins range in price from £2 to £10 depending on size.
In addition to the pumpkin picking, there’s a scarecrow hunt and tea and cakes and face painting.

Stanhill Farm
Grab a wheelbarrow and head to the field to pick your pumpkin. There will be plenty of photo opportunities with a sea of orange for a background.
They also have a great maize maze during the summer months.

Pumpkin Moon
There are over 80 varieties of pumpkins, gourds and squashes to choose from, including some enormous white ones.
Where: There are three locations to choose from (Maidstone, Rainham or Faversham).
When: Weekends from beginning of October and then daily during October half term.
Tickets: £1.50 per person (Under 3 FREE).

Pumpkin picking in Essex
Marsh Farm
Marsh Farm Pumpkin Village is billed as a premium Essex pumpkin patch.
They have a large field full of pumpkins and when you’re done, head to the courtyard for a pumpkin spiced latte and take photos in front of orange themed social media backdrops.
There’s spooky illuminated pumpkin picking at night too and a Halloween shop. It’s one of the best places to go pumpkin picking in Essex.

Cammas Hall Farm
Cammas Hall Farm offers a ready picked pumpkin patch with Halloween decorations. Extra Halloween activities available as well as 2 maize mazes and a spooky walking trail.
Cammas Hall Farm is also one of the best places to go fruit picking near London.

Foxes Farm Produce
Ready cut pumpkins in the field. 15 different varieties of PYO pumpkins available. Wheelbarrows available.
Where: The Pumpkin Patch, Watch House Farm, Wash Road, Basildon, SS15 4ER – and – The Pumpkin Patch, Green Lane, Aldham, Colchester, CO6 3PR.
When: From end of September to end of October.

Pumpkin patches and Maize Mazes
Hatter’s Farm
Hatter’s Farm is close to the Essex / Cambridgeshire border and is a family run Pumpkin Patch in Essex with over 100,000 home-grown pumpkins across 50 varieties which can be picked from the field.
As well as pumpkins there is also a Pumpkin Cannon, Maize Maze, a hay bale kingdom and face painting. This year they will also be opening their spooky Pumpkin Nights event!
There are also live street actors and Hatter’s Fun House – a clown themed indoor maze which is included in your ticket!
Hot food and drinks are available.

Pumpkin picking in Surrey
Garsons
Garsons PYO Farm is the largest pumpkin patch in Surrey with an enormous 155 acres of PYO fields.
There are lots of other pick your own vegetables available too besides pumpkins which you can also pick with your PYO Farm Pass. There’s also a Garsons Garden Centre next door with a café.
Where: Winterdown Road, Esher, Surrey, KT10 8LS.
When: From beginning of October.
Tickets: Adults – £4.00, Child (2-14) – £1, Under 2 – FREE (Tickets released 1 week in advance).
Crockford Bridge Farm
Tickets get you entry to the pumpkin festival. There will be pumpkin carving and other Halloween activities.
They also have a pumpkin market (Crockford’s Corner) where you can go and buy a pumpkin without needing to book.
There will be plenty of photo ops. Fancy dress encouraged. There are burgers and hotdogs, a tea shack and an ice cream parlour.

When: Pumpkin festival runs during October half term (pumpkin picking is throughout October).

Secretts
Take a stroll around the pumpkin fields to select your pumpkin. Enjoy a pumpkin themed menu and BBQ at the café and take inspiration on what to do with your pumpkins other than just carving them with these pumpkin recipes.

Priory Farm
There’s a spooky Halloween trail from 9th October to 31st October (£6.00 per person). Tractor rides to the pumpkin field will take places on weekends in October and through half term (£5.00 per person). Pumpkin Palace (free).

Pumpkin picking in Suffolk
Suffolk might be a little far from London, so why not have a weekend there as there are lots of things to do in Suffolk with kids, including a lovely day out at a pumpkin patch in Suffolk.

Siam Hall
As well as the field of pumpkins, there’s a pumpkin carving area. Prices for pumpkins start from £1. Wheelbarrows are available.

Pumpkin picking in Buckinghamshire
Nathan’s Farm
Nathan’s Farm is an animal farm so as well as the pumpkin picking and pumpkin carving, there’s animal petting and a playground. Warm up with a pumpkin soup in the café.

Pumpkin picking in Berkshire
Cobbs Farm Shop
Cobbs Farm Shop offers pumpkin picking in the fields but no pumpkin carving will be available this year. There will be a bus café with hot drinks and cakes. Wheelbarrows available.

Pumpkin picking London
If it is difficult to visit a pumpkin patch near London, you could try pumpkin carving at Eltham Palace.
Chelsea Physic Garden also usually runs a family pumpkin carving session.
