The 10 Best Child Friendly Restaurants In Levi
Levi Ski Resort in Lapland is a hugely popular destination for families seeking the ultimate Santa experience so there are inevitably some child friendly restaurants in Levi – but which are the best?
We did a DIY Lapland trip (saving ourselves thousands over the cost of a package holiday) and so we had to find places to eat in Levi.
We had breakfast at our hotel (the Hotel Levi Panorama) and were glad that we had the option to eat out for the other meals because the hotel food was not amazing. We hear that is the case with most hotel buffets – although not the Northern Lights Village Levi where the food was delicious.
If you are looking to escape the hotel food for a night or have a night off cooking in your self-catering accommodation, here are our recommendations on the best places to eat in Levi with kids.
Just one word of warning – a lot of the restaurants have reindeer on the menu. Our kids refused to try it because of the associations with Rudolf. You might need to be prepared to explain that one away!!

The great thing about Levi is that there are a decent number of restaurants and they’re all within easy walking distance of each other or of the centre of town.
Here’s where to eat in Levi with kids..
Koti Pizza
Koti Pizza is probably one of the most family-friendly restaurants in Levi. It is a relaxed, no frills fast-food type restaurant serving the most enormous pizzas you’ve ever seen!
That in itself was enough to win over our boys but the pizzas were also really delicious. They also loved the self-serve drinks. They do serve alcohol.
While eating out in Levi can be expensive, this was a fairly inexpensive meal. It is located almost opposite Zero Point and the church. This was one of our favourite Levi restaurants.
Prices range from around EUR 10 for a medium up to EUR 30 for an extra large.
Address: Koti Pizza, Hissitie, 99130 Sirkka 99130 Sirkka, Finland.
Ristorante Renna
Ristorante Renna is billed as a Lappish Italian restaurant where they serve lovely pasta and pizza options.
It is really cozy inside and the staff are very friendly. They had some decent wines and OK prices too so we took the opportunity to order a bottle of wine (which is not something we did often in Lapland!)
The only thing to note is that they seem to put balsamic glaze on all of their dishes so if your kids aren’t fans, check if they can leave that off.
Our kids thought that the spaghetti bolognese was delicious.
Address: Building Loimu, Hiihtäjänkuja 10, 99130 Levi Finland.
Stefan’s Steakhouse
Stefan’s Steakhouse is one of the more expensive restaurants in Levi. It offers high quality steaks but they are very good. The restaurant was absolutely heaving when we were there so it is obviously very popular despite the prices.
We would recommend booking this one in advance if you are looking for a treat. You can see the menu here.
Kids under 12 can order half portions of the adult meals – or they have a special kids’ menu too. Our kids ordered a kids’ steak and chips for EUR 15.
Address: Hissitie 15, 99130 Levi, Finland.
Pannukakkutalo
Pannukakkutalo is a pancake house serving sweet and savoury pancakes at reasonable prices. They range from around EUR 9 – EUR 15.
Our kids weren’t particularly adventurous, opting for a banana, caramel and chocolate pancake but there were lots of delicious options on the menu that they would have loved too – mostly involving chocolate.
We opted to try the reindeer, onion and smoked cheese and it was delicious.
Address: Torikuja 10, Levi.
Secret Café
Most people refer to the little café run by the Hotel Levi Panorama as the Secret Café (not so secret these days) but if you are looking for information on it, it is actually called the Café Panorama Laavu.
It is a little cabin in the woods about 300m from the hotel and is an idyllic setting for a very rustic bite to eat. The menu is limited. You can order sausages or marshmallows which you can roast yourself over the fire.
The hot chocolate she makes on the fire is also delicious and very welcoming after a walk in the snow.
There is a large glass window at the front of the cabin with lovely views over Levi down below. It really is quite a unique experience.
It is open from 12pm – 4pm.
Address: Tunturitie 205, 99130 Levi, Finland.
King Crab House
King Crab House specialises in Red King Crab which comes from the North Norwegian coast but they also have non-crab options, including vegan options.
The kids will love looking at the crab in the tank (more than they will love eating it if they are anything like our kids).
The kids’ menu starts at EUR 8.00 for chicken nuggets and chips and includes fish of the week and reindeer. See the menu here.
Address: Mariankuja 6, 99130 Sirkka, Finland
Colorado Bar & Grill Levi
We’ll start by saying that we didn’t actually eat here. We saw some great reviews about it and went but we couldn’t get a table.
I mean, there were tables, but we stood by the entrance waiting to be acknowledged – and nobody came to check on us despite catching a few of the servers eyes so we left.
So – this entry is based on the many, many positive reviews from other families. Basically, Colorado serves American style food so you can expect burgers, fajitas, nachos, chicken wings etc.
It is probably one of the most child friendly restaurants in Levi but we can’t vouch for it!
Address: Hissitie 15, 99130 Sirkka.
Campfire Barista
Campfire Barista isn’t actually a restaurant but it was a really fun place to eat in Levi with the kids.
It is located in the Christmas Market at Zero Point. He serves the best coffee and you can buy delicious sweet and savoury treats there to roast on his fire.
Note that you cannot take your own marshmallows and sausages to roast on his fire.
Restaurants on the slopes
If you are skiing with kids in Levi, it’s good to know where you can stop off for lunch. Or maybe you just want to take a ski lift up for lunch with a view.
Horizont and Restaurant Tuikku were good options.
For a super cheap meal in Levi, you can always head to the supermarket and grab some sausages and buns and go and roast your own sausages at the Kota at Kids’ Land.
Lapland Hotels Snow Village
The Snow Village is a little away out of Levi (about 40 minutes in a taxi) but we’re including it because it is such a unique place to eat in Levi.
Each year, 20 million kilos of snow and 350,000 kilos of crystal clear ice are used to build the snow village. It usually opens from around mid December to the beginning of April.
There is a 3 course dinner which costs EUR 70 for adults and EUR 35 for children. If you don’t want to be tied down to this menu, you can also just go an visit and grab a soup for lunch.
You can book a guided tour of the Snow Village here which includes lunch.
For something completely different – how about an overnight stay in the ice hotel??
Address: Lainiotie, 99100 Kittilä, Finland.
Burger King
You probably don’t want to come all the way to Lapland and have a Burger King but we’re just letting you know that it’s there. Eating out in Lapland is not cheap on the whole, so a meal in Burger King may offer some light relief!
Looking for family-friendly accommodation in Levi? We stayed at the Hotel Levi Panorama and the during our stay and highly rate them both.
Self-catering in Levi
If you are self-catering in Levi, we found that the K-Supermarket stocked everything you might need (including marshmallows!). The prices weren’t too dissimilar to the UK.
It is located just to the west of the town centre, close to the Hotel K5 where you can go and feed the reindeers,
