Peacock Riverside – very simple and cheap family room with 2 double beds located just under 4 miles from Udawalawe. We recommend it for the food and for the warm welcome from the hosts who arranged our safari for us. Mosquito nets and breakfast are included.
Vimanra Udawalawa – lovely family rooms that sleep up to 4 located around 8 miles from Udawalawe. They have a beautiful infinity pool and are surrounded by rice paddies. A lovely breakfast is included. It is a great budget family hotel in Udawalawe with pool.
Buddika Safari & Resort – this is about as close as you can get to Udawalawe National Park – almost opposite the entrance. They have small family rooms (for up to 3 people) which are quite basic but they do have aircon and a children’s playground.
Mango Tree House – safari style chalet with family suites with two double beds. It is located around 7 miles from Udawalawe but it is in a lovely setting. We love the outdoor showers!

Athgira River Camping – safari-style tents very close to the park with 2 outdoor swimming pools and great Sri Lankan food in their restaurant. Their deluxe tents accommodate families of 4 with mosquito nets available.
Kalu’s Hideaway – located about 2 miles from Udawalawe, the rooms are for 2 people but they offer interconnecting rooms for families. This is a truly lovely family accommodation with a pool near Udawalawe National Park.
Centauria Wild is located just over half a mile from Udawalawe National Park, making it one of the closest hotels to Udawalawe for families. It has 2 bedroom family suites, a large pool and a spa and restaurant.
Makulu Safari Camping – lovely safari tents around 4 miles from Udawalawe that sleep up to 4 in two large double beds. Mosquito nets provided and breakfast is included.
La Casa Udawalawe – this tree house style accommodation is one of the more unique places to stay in Udawalawe with kids! The views from the balconies are lovely and breakfast is included as well as mosquito nets. It is located around 3 miles from Udawalawe.
